Are you ready to manifest God's purpose for your life in 2025? Ready to embrace your dreams, goals, and divine destiny? It’s time to talk about Vision Boards, Prayer Boards, and how the Digital Vision Board Planner can guide you in making those God-inspired dreams come true.

Vision Boards aren't just about creating pretty collages—they’re about aligning your goals and aspirations with God's plan for your life. So grab your journal, your favorite markers, and let’s get to work! Because this year, you’re not just dreaming—you’re manifesting God’s vision for you.

What is a Vision Board, Really?

A Vision Board is a visual representation of your goals, dreams, and prayers. It’s a tool you use to set your intentions, but here’s the thing: it’s not about creating your own path. It’s about partnering with God and bringing clarity to the dreams He has placed in your heart.

Instead of simply visualizing what you want, you’re creating a visual of where God is leading you. This could include things like your family life, career aspirations, health, or even your ministry goals. When you look at your Vision Board, you should see God’s hand guiding each area of your life.

A Vision Board is also sometimes called a Prayer Board when you include scriptures, affirmations, and prayers that align with God's promises for your life. The goal is to not only visually stimulate you but to spiritually activate your faith in God's timing and plan.

How can a bunch of pictures and words be so powerful?

Here’s the tea: when you see something often enough, your brain starts to believe it’s real. Boom. That’s the power of visualization.

Sis, did you know that your brain doesn’t know the difference between what’s real and what you’re visualizing? Studies have shown that scientists believe the brain doesn’t differentiate between a real memory and an imagined (visualized) one. But here’s the catch, sis: it’s not just about putting up a bunch of pictures. No, ma’am. You’ve got to feel it. Imagine yourself already living your dream life. Your brain will treat that as a reality and start putting you in the right places to make it come true.

Visualization also communicates to our mind what to focus on.  Our mind is constantly filtering out million of things in our environment so that we don't become over stimulated.  We tell our minds what to focus on.  Think of it like this, when you purchase a car, you begin to see more cars just like yours.  Not because there is a sudden influx of cars like yours, but because you are more focused on it.

God’s Word tells us in Proverbs 16:3, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” That’s the essence of creating a Vision Board. You’re laying out your goals with faith, believing that God will direct your steps toward the purpose He has for you. Every time you see your Vision Board, you're reminded of God's promises, and that increases your faith and your motivation to keep moving forward.

When you focus on His plan for you, you are more likely to notice opportunities and align your actions with His guidance. Your Vision Board serves as a visual cue to help you stay on track, trusting that God is with you in every step. The goal is to not only visually stimulate you but to spiritually activate your faith in God's timing and plan.

But I am struggling with actually making one.

Don’t worry, I got you! This isn’t about sitting and staring at your vision board for hours on end. Creating a vision board is a planting a seed. The ideas and intentions are in your mind, and your vision board is a tool to nurture them.  It is a daily reminder to keep you focused. Let your creativity flow, queen!

How to Make a Vision Board That Honors God

Step 1: Pray First

Before you start gluing pictures on a board, spend some time in prayer. Ask God to reveal His vision for your life. What does He want you to focus on this year? What areas of your life need healing, growth, or attention?

This time of prayer will guide your Vision Board process and ensure it aligns with God’s will. Once you’ve received clarity through prayer, you’re ready to move to the next step.

Step 2: Gather Your Materials

You can make your Vision Board using physical materials or digital tools—whatever works best for you. it doesn’t have to be expensive. You can use whatever you have on hand. Some ideas for materials include:

  • Poster board or corkboard for a physical board

  • Magazine cut-outs or printed images of things you’d like to see manifest

  • Scripture cards or handwritten prayers

  • Markers and pens for writing your goals and affirmations

  • Digital tools for tech-savvy dreamers—use your phone, tablet, or computer to create a digital vision board

Other supplies will vary depending on the type of board you’re using, but basically you’ll need at least some of the following items:

  • Magazine cut-outs or printed images of things you’d like to see manifest

  • Scripture cards or handwritten prayers on note cards

  • scissors or an exacto knife

  • pen, markers, crayons for writing your goals and affirmations

  • something to hold your stuff to your board – glue, paste, glue stick, tape, pushpins, straight pins, thumbtacks, magnets

  1. Posters : Glue images and/or quotes to a piece of poster board. (I like pretty things, so you could also buy a frame and hang it when you are done).

  2. Goal-specific vision boards :These are vision boards specifically for one goal (getting my first book finished and published) or for one area of my life (weight-loss and healthy eating )

  3. Cork board or bulletin board: Use pushpins to attach images and words to a bulletin board. This is pretty cool to update your pictures and quotes over time.

  4. Mobile: You can create vision boards on your phone or computer. YES THERE IS AN APP FOR THAT TOO! This allows you to take your board with you and look at it during your work day, at the gym, etc.

Pick one or multiples ones that suit your personality.  This is such a highly personal thing that you can not get wrong.

Step 3: Create Your Vision BoardCreate Your Bingo Card: On your Vision Board (or a separate card), lay out your goals in a bingo grid.

Start placing your images, words, and prayers onto your board. Here are some things to consider:

  • Spiritual alignment: Include Bible verses or prayers that resonate with your goals. Scripture is a powerful reminder of God’s promises.

  • Faith-filled words: Write out affirmations that align with what you believe God is calling you to. These should remind you of His strength and provision.

  • Images of the future you want: Visualize the outcomes you’re hoping for—your career goals, your family life, your health, your dreams—and make them visible on your board.
